Looking for ideas for things to do with your dog on your dog-friendly camping holiday? Here are just a few.
Dogs need to let off steam. Take your pet for a hike on a footpath or mountain trail, depending on where you're staying. Your dog will love running around in nature, sniffing and exploring new territory.
Another popular activity for dogs is swimming. If your holiday region has a lake or river nearby, or even the sea, plan to take a dip! Your pet will be delighted to cool off there.
Finally, dogs are fun-loving animals. So find a park or a large expanse of grass and play with a Frisbee, a ball or a chew toy.
Are you looking forward to your camping holiday with your dog? That's perfectly understandable. But before you go, there are a few things you need to check. First of all, a visit to the vet is essential to make sure your pet's vaccinations are up to date and in good health. Take the opportunity to discuss parasite prevention and obtain the necessary medication.
In addition, check that your dog is properly identified (microchip or tattoo) and that its details are up to date on its tag and in the national file of identified animals. If your dog gets lost while you're camping with us, this will make reunions much easier.
Pack a special dog first-aid kit for your camping trip with an accepted dog. It should contain anti-parasite products, compresses, disinfectant, scissors and your dog's usual medicines. Finally, the road on holiday is often a long one, so make sure you take plenty of water with you for hydration breaks during the journey, and take regular breaks to allow your dog to stretch and relieve itself.
