Located in the Var, south of the Regional Natural Park of the Prealps d'Azur, about 20 km north of Frejus and Saint-Raphael, Lake St. Cassian covers an area of 420 hectares. It is bordered by several municipalities: Estérets-du-Lac, Les Adrets-de-l'Estérel, Tanneron, Montauroux, Callian. Characterized by its strange T-shape, this dam has a maximum length of 7 km. Seen from the sky, it surprises by its particular shape, the purity of its waters and the surrounding vegetation. It is in a preserved natural setting and is a perfect place for a relaxing day.
The particularity of this lake is that motor boats are prohibited, only sailboats, electric boats, pedal boats, kayaks and stand-up paddles are allowed. Ideal for an outing with family or friends, you can enjoy a picnic area to spend a pleasant moment of calm. You will enjoy its landscape by practicing fun activities in pedalo or on hikes. It also attracts fishermen because it is very full of fish. You will catch mostly carp, but also many other species: breams, roach, rudd, pikeperch, pike, common perch, bleak, catfish, catfish, tench ... The lake is also conducive to rowing. It houses a training center and the Saint-Cassien club is one of the 15 best clubs in France. When you arrive at the lake, you will be surprised by the size of the infrastructure. The boat garage of the nautical base alone occupies a surface of 1,000 m2.
If you want to enjoy your camping holiday in the Var to discover the Provencal hinterland and walk in the wilderness, you can make beautiful walks around this lake. In summer, you can swim there to relax after walking for several kilometers.
To access the Saint-Cassien lake from Fréjus, take the D37 then the A8 towards Cannes. Exit the motorway at Les Adrets-de-L'Esterel (exit 39) and follow the signs.
