The city of Carqueiranne is finally a remarkable rich historical heritage to discover during a day of sightseeing, or lounging on a longer stay. At the forefront of this heritage, military forts were built in Carqueiranne between the late 18th and late 19th century. All the fortifications of Carqueiranne was part of the defense line of the harbor of Toulon. It includes the height of the Colle Noire, The Bayarde battery, battery The Gavaresse, and the battery of the Cape of Carqueiranne. The height of the Bayarde date of 1890. It is now the site of an annual theater festival and offers a unique view of the peninsula of Giens and Toulon harbor. Of site tours are also organized.
