Located some twelve kilometres from the beaches of the Côte d’Azur (French Riviera), Grasse is an old town dating from the 12th century, with its own micro climate, suitable for growing flowers. This has seen the birth of several famous perfumeries such as Fragonard, Molinard, Gallimard, .... In the centre of the town, sumptuous 19th century mansions rub shoulders with typical houses on pretty cobbled streets. You can visit the famous perfumeries for free, from old factory buildings to typical gardens, and discover the secrets of making perfume, or watch soap being crafted. A Perfume Museum is located in the town centre, where you can learn about the history and manufacture of perfumes throughout the ages.
